“The Creative Edge - Art of the Kootenays” is looking to publish critical essays on art in the Kootenays. Essays should cover what art is in the Kootenays and what makes this area special and different from the rest of Canada. No artist profiles please. Essays should be 700-1200 words. All accepted essays will be published in “The Creative Edge - Art of the Kootenays” scheduled for release Sept 2009. All work can be submitted to publisher Karla Pearce art@karlapearce.com . Kootenay Artists Needed to Be in Art Book!

The Creative Edge, Art of the Kootenays is currently looking for artists that are interested in showing their work in a hard cover art book. This book provides an overview of contemporary art in the Kootenays and is a resource book for artists, galleries, schools, museums, dealers and art collectors who are interested in learning about the artists and the art of the Kootenays. The book will be in place in Vancouver and Whistler at the 2010 Olympics as well as local bookstores in the Kootenays, e-commerce, art colleges and selected universities across Canada. The Creative Edge, Art of The Kootenays will be a beautiful full colour art book that will showcase the artistic talent and diversity this area has to offer. It is being printed in high quality in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.

The Creative Edge, Art of The Kootenays, is looking for artists to submit work in the disciplines of painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, ceramic, jewelry, fiber, glass, and multi media. All material submitted must be original content created by the artist. The book already is 1/3 full. Place and availability are subject to quality and acceptance. All artists must provide a $250 fee after final proof. The cost includes full editing, creative layout and design per-page, text review and post-editing, plates, offset printing, binding, packing, shipping, and distribution.

All Artists interested in submitting please e-mail, 3 - 6 art works (large files) the works details: title, year, media, size, a 100 word artist statement /history, personal website URL and photo of yourself to: art@karlapearce.com.
